The Rialto Report returns today with a new season, and we kick off with a selection of previously unseen photographs from Armand Weston‘s Take Off (1978).
‘Take Off’ was one of the most successful adult films of the 1970s, winning AFAA Awards in 1979 for Best Director (Armand Weston), Best Supporting Actress (Georgina Spelvin), Best Song (Elephant’s Memory), Best Cinematography (João Fernandes), and Best Costumes (Alexis Del Lago).
We were privileged recently to be given access to the Distribpix archives, and came across files of unpublished photos and documentary materials from the landmark and award-winning Mature Pictures production, which starred Wade Nichols, Lesllie Bovee, Annette Haven, and Eric Edwards.
We are grateful to Distribpix and Steven Morowitz for allowing us to share a selection here.

The best news of the vacation weekend – The Rialto Report starts a new season!!
Bring it on… I love this.
Simply amazing to see these pictures for the first time so many years later.
Georgina looks resplendent, and Wade as enigmatic as ever.
Thank you for this glimpse!
Love, love, love this.
The only aspect that saddens me is that there has been no fancy release for TAKE OFF – a film that truly deserves a remastered re-release, no?
Welcome back.
Take Off seriously needs the Melusine treatment. 4K if they can, hopefully some sort of commentary/interviews, even if archival, and, of course, Ashley West liner notes.
Welcome back! You’ve been missed!
This is absolutely amazing! TAKE OFF is one of those films from the Golden Age that doesn’t get enough attention. Thank you to both The Rialto Report & Steven Morowitz for bringing these beautiful pictures to light!
Great script, great acting, great costuming, great cinematography. Very funny, but with a poignant ending, too.
And that movie poster is iconic and quintessentially 1970s.
As an aside, I’ve seen conflicting reports that Lesllie Bovee recently passed away. Can anyone confirm?
Awesome Article Keep Up Good Work Happy Memorial Day
Welcome back Rialto – I panic whenever you don’t post!
Can someone please please please release Take Off in a better version (and preferably with someone other than the VS cretin who’s done commentaries before… he’s atrocious. Get someone from The Rialto Report instead!)
THANKS!
Love this. Cheers!
Any hints on who/what will be covered in this season of the report? please.. pretty please..
Day, and possibly week, made RR! 🙂
I can only echo what has been written here:
1. Welcome back!
2. Please bring out ‘Take Off’ on BluRay with Ashley West extras!
Thank you…
Love this film. Love Wade Nichols. Love Lesllie!
Don’t queer the deal – just bask in the wonder that RR shares with us, yes? 🙂
Enough teasing!
We want Leslie Bovee: libertine, airline stewardess, orgy habitué, and voracious queen of bumping uglies!!!!!!! But; what is she really like; and what does she have to say about the industry in which she was an orgasmic luminary? There have been hints of her here and there on this website BUT WE WANT THE WHOLE ENCHALADA!!!! Am I selfish in wanting this — HELL YEAH!!!!!!
Her famous swimming pool pictorial changed my life and made me a huge fan of “butterflies” —and if you love Leslie you know exactly what I mean!!!!!
Love The Rialto Report! BIG FAN!!!!!!
